ALONA BEACH

ALONA BEACH. 

Probably the most beautiful, and surely the
most developed beach on Panglao. Located at
the Southwest of the island, this beach is about
one and a half kilometers long, lined with nice
resorts, which are great to stay for a some time,
a number of well equipped diving establishments
and pleasant places to eat out, if you do not want
to eat at your resort's restaurant for a change.

CHOCOLATE HILLS

CHOCOLATE HILLS. 

Located in the town of Carmen, 55 kilometes
from Tagbilaran City, the Chocolate Hills are
undoubtedly the most famous tourist attraction in
Bohol. Among the 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills,
which abound in Central Bohol, two have been
developed into a resort. On top of these hills is
a complex that offers accommodation, conference
rooms, restaurants, and a view deck.

BACLAYON CHURCH

BACLAYON CHURCH. 

One of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines is
Baclayon Church, located in the town of Baclayon,
six kilometers from Tagbilaran City. This ancient
massive edifice still retains its century-old architectural
design. Both in the external and internal portions of the
church are various interesting relics and artifacts dating
back to the early 16th century, which have now been
placed at the Baclayon Museum. Baclayon is the oldest
town in Bohol and the mother town of Alburquerque,
Balilihan, and Sikatuna.

BLOOD COMPACT/SANDUGO

BLOOD COMPACT/SANDUGO. 

Datu Sikatuna, a native Boholano chieftain,
forged a Blood Compact with Don Miguel
Lopez de Legazpi, representing the King of
Spain, for the purpose of fostering friendly
relations between the two countries. The
 Blood Compact that took place on March
16, 1565 is considered as the first “Treaty
of Friendship” between the brown and white
races. A marker of this historic event can be
found in Barangay Bool at Tagbilaran City.

LOBOC RIVER

LOBOC RIVER. 

Enjoy a fascinating boat ride in the serene waters
of Loboc River, starting from Loay Bridge which
is the outlet of the river, and along the palm-fringed
banks inland. The ride via motorized pump boat ends
near the Tontonan water falls, where several falls
with cascading water provides a pleasant bathing session.
 
 

HINAGDANAN CAVE

HINAGDANAN CAVE. 

It has clean, fresh water gushing from rocky sides.
An eerie underworld of stalactites and stalagmites.
Underneath is a bathing pool. This cave is about
2 ½ kilometers away from the poblacion of Dauis.
 
 
 
 

BALICASAG ISLAND

BALICASAG ISLAND. 

Accessible in a 35 minute boat ride from the town off
Panglao Island. The island has been developed
into a dive resort for people who have a keen sense
of awareness for marine preservation. Whale
watching expeditions can be organized from here

PAMILACAN ISLAN

PAMILACAN ISLAN. 

One of the country's richest scuba diving sites.
Noted for its big whales called Sanga. It is
between the deep sea of Bohol and Mindanao.
Beautiful small and big colored fish and the prized
Gloria Maris sea shells abound in its surrounding
waters. Accessible in an hour ride by pumpboat from
Baclayon, a whale watching expedition can also be organized
 
 

TARSIER

TARSIER. 

One of the rare faunas found in the Philippine
archipelago that is usually the favorite subject
of scientific research is the tarsier, considered
as the smallest primate in the whole world.
A nocturnal primate measuring from four to five
inches, it has  tail which is longer than its body.
However, if you're really interested to see this
famous tarsier, you're always welcomed by the
Boholanos to see it in its natural abode the hills
in the town of Corella, 10 km. from Tagbilaran City.
